Leaving the port of Dar es Saalam
Dar es Salaam Harbour is located at the head of Dar es Salaam Bay, in a sheltered inlet on the SE side of the city. It is the largest city and principal port of Tanzania, but also acts as a main port for several other countries in Central Africa, including Burundi, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia.
Entering the port of Mombasa
Mombasa is the principal port of Kenya and Uganda. It is also a main port for several other countries in Central Africa including Rwanda, Burundi, Congo and Sudan. It is situated East of Mombasa island which is occupied by the town of Mombasa, the most important town on the East Coast of Africa, from Durban to Port Said.
Entering the port of Manzanillo, Mexico
The port of Manzanillo, the largest in Mexico, is situated on the South side of Bahia de Manzanillo and extends into Laguna de San Pedrito, an extensive area of water which lies behind the head of the bay. The port, a busy major export centre for Mexico on the Pacific Coast, is the port of entry for the State of Colima and it is equipped to handle most types of cargo, including oil cargoes and containers.
Entering the port of Brest, France
Brest is a major French naval base as well as an important commercial, repair and fishing port. Rade Abri and Port Militaire, together with Port de Commerce close East, lie on the North side of Rade de Brest. The harbour is protected by breakwaters.
Kaohsiung maneuver
Kaohsiung lies on the SW coast of Taiwan and the port, to the SW of the city, extends 6 miles and a half SE. The port of Kaohsiung developed from an existing lagoon with a sandbar, but it expanded seaward, providing natural shelter. It is the largest port in Taiwan and one of the busiest container ports in the world.
