Entering the port of Durban
Durban is the largest city in the Province of KwaZulu – Natal and the principal port for general cargo and containers in South Africa.
The port was constructed on a low area at the mouth of two rivers – Mhlatuzana River and Umbilo River. It consists of an almost land-locked sheltered harbor entered via a single channel, marked by buoys.

The port of Jebel Ali is the largest marine facility in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. Its construction was completed in 1979, at that time being one of the three biggest engineering constructions in the world – along with the Chinese Wall and the Hoover Dam, in the United States.

Tianjin, formerly known as Tianjin Xingang, is situated on the West side of Bo Hai Gulf, at the entrance to Hai He River. It is the nearest port to Beijing and one of the busiest and most important ports in China. The port is approached from ESE and it is entered through Tianjin Gang Main Channel which is ~21 miles long and 16 -21 m deep.

The Port of Napier, situated on the West side of Hawke Bay, adjacent to the city of Napier, comprises Breakwater Harbour, the commercial harbor and Napier Inner Harbour, which used to be the commercial harbor before the earthquake in 1931, but now is suitable only for small pleasure boats.

Lyttelton Harbour, also known as Whakaraupo, lies in the SW corner of the Pegasus Bay, on the NW side of Banks Peninsula, in the South Island of New Zealand. Situated on an inner harbour in the middle of the North side of Lyttelton Harbour, Lyttelton is a custom and fishing port and a port of entry. It is the principal port of the Canterbury Region of New Zealand and it is situated about 12 miles to the NW from the city of Christchurch.

The port of Chiwan belongs to the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone situated in the North of Hong Kong, together with other ports – Yantian, Shekou and Mawan.
Chiwan Port lies ~ 20 miles NW of Hong Kong and it has container terminals and wharfs for general and bulk cargo. It consists of an enclosed basin, entered through Chiwan Channel which is 120 m wide.
