Bharat Mumbai Port
Today, a very interesting and touching ceremony was held on board CV Centaurus and I am very happy I got the chance of witnessing it. I have always wanted to see an official ceremony of baptizing a ship or opening of a new port, but neither of these happened during my sailing time on board Hansa vessels.
A new beginning
After 10 years of happy and safe voyages on board Hansa vessels (which had to come to an end due to the company’s closure) and after 12 months away from the maritime life – partly because of personal reasons and partly due to my husband’s finding a new employer – here I am again, starting a new adventure at sea, on a new vessel and for a new company.
Voyage HS Columbia
It’s quite sad for me to write about my voyage on board HS Columbia two months after the vessel was sold for scrap to an Indian buyer and probably already dismantled and cut to pieces. As a matter of fact, it’s very sad for me to admit that my ten year adventure on board Hansa vessels has come to an end due to the company’s closure and my future as a wife companion on board looks very unsure.
Going ashore in Laem Chabang Pattaya
Going ashore in Visakhapatnam, India
Visakhapatnam is located on the East Coast of India and it is the largest city of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. Its port is one of the largest in India, being the biggest natural harbor on the East coast. Going out of the port of Visakhapatnam is quite a challenge for any seafarer, but nevertheless a rewarding experience, especially for those in search of the real taste and flavors of India.
Christmas on board HS Columbia
Voyage HS Onore ( February – July 2016)
Our voyage on board HS Onore started on the 15th of February 2016 in the port of Hong Kong and it took us on two distinct services – China – Philippines and China – Vietnam – during a period of 4 months and a half. The vessel was chartered by CMA CGM for a period of three months, with a first trade covering 10 ports in China (including Hong Kong) and 2 ports in the Philippines.
Entering the port of Qingdao
Entering the port of Yantian
Yantian Harbour is situated in Guangdong Province in the NW part of Mirs Bay, close to the administrative border with the Hong Kong SAR. The harbour is a natural deep-water port and it is approached through Thai Peng Bay (Mirs Bay) and entered from the E. The principal berthing area consists of the Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) in the centre of the harbour along with a basin to the West at Yantian West Wharf.
